MZUZU UNIVERSITY SDA CLUB HELD A CAMPUS CRUSADE-Be Doers of Words not Hearers only…
By Desire C. Mussa, Mzuzu University, Malawi
For two weeks, Mzuzu University has been blessed with word of God from the Holy Bible. The Mzuzu University Seventh-Day Adventist Club organised the campus crusade from 6th to 19th May, 2018. It is one of registered student’s Christian association at the university. Theme of the crusade came from James1:22, “But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only…” Pastor Mwale, North Malawi Conference President has been preaching to Mzuzu University intellectuals since the beginning of the crusade. The program was commencing from 7:00 pm to 8:30pm every evening. Speaking to the company leader, Lazaro Michiko, he said that the crusade was organised to teach and remind student’s community that God loves them. “We had a great time during these past two weeks. We used to have health message each evening before sermon,” he said.
Felix Njeza, the facilitator of the program said, “We had a great time with Pastor Mwale during the crusade. We have learnt much on issues about our spiritual, physical, psychological and social life. Students who had questions from the bible were answered. Matthew 28:19-20 reads,” Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. ”
Graciano Chibisa, one of Mzuzu University student who have been attending the crusade in Auditorium 1 said, “I have been blessed since the beginning of this crusade. I thought I know much about the word of God till I prove myself wrong. Yes! I know and believe in Lord Jesus Christ, but I have been failing to follow HIS steps at some point because of ignorance about doing the will of GOD. This message has reached on right time. Most Christians, we hear the word of GOD in several occasions but we choose not put those words into action. One of days during the crusade, Pastor Mwale preached that knowing the right thing is not much important until you decide to do correct actions. He further explained that even devil knows how to do the right thing but he choose to disobey GOD by doing wrong. So, it is true that if a person knows how to do right and chooses to act wrongly, that person is not different from devil. Trust and obey in Jesus Christ is the only way to be happy in this life.”
